Promise Scholarship Process
The first step to receiving the Buchanan Promise is to complete the Promise Eligibility Application during your senior year of high school. This application opens in January and is used to determine your eligibility. Once eligible you need to complete The Promise Pledge to accept or defer your award.
The next step is to request Promise Funds. Your first year you must complete the Buchanan Promise Scholarship Award Form to request funds. After that, Promise students are required to complete the Promise Renewal Form each year in order to continue to receive Promise funds. High School Seniors
Step 1
Your first step to receiving the Buchanan Promise is to complete the Eligibility Application found below. This application is to be completed during your senior year and is required to determine whether you are eligible to receive the Buchanan Promise Scholarship.
Step 2
Once you are deemed eligible to receive the Buchanan Promise, you will receive an email with instructions and a link to complete your Buchanan Promise Pledge. This is where you will indicate whether or not you intend to use your Promise funds immediately following graduation or if you intend to defer your award until a later date. Failure to complete this step will result in your Promise Funds being revoked. Please see our handbook or contact us for any questions you may have.
Request Promise Funds
Initial Promise Funds Request (Year 1)
Students are required to complete the Buchanan Promise Scholarship Award Form the first year they use their Promise. You must upload verification of enrollment.This could be an acceptance letter, a copy of your schedule, or a tuition statement. Please make sure your name, your student identification number, and your instituation’s name is on all documentation.
Promise Funds Renewal Request (Year 2 and beyond)
Students are required to complete the Promise Renewal Form each school year to continue receiving their Buchanan Promise Scholarship funds. When renewing, you must upload your most recent transcript with your cumulative GPA and your upcoming class schedule or tuition statement. Please make sure your name, your student identification number and your institution’s name is on all documentation.
